  • What is the resolution?
  • How will you complete it?
  • How you feel about it?
  • Why you made this resolution?

Model cue card answer:

People enjoy going to parties or spending time with family and friends to ring in the new year. Also, the start of a new year causes people to reflect on the future and how they may make it better than the previous year.

Making New Year’s resolutions is a popular approach for people to do this. It’s frequently a vow to accomplish a new goal or make a life shift.

I’ve made numerous New Year’s resolutions in the past, only to abandon them within a short period of time. But this year, I’ve made a resolve that I believe is more realistic and that I should be able to keep. My New Year’s resolution is to improve my health and fitness.

I’ve decided to perform a 10 km walk a week or jog at least thrice a week for my health and fitness. Moreover, I’ve opted to cut back on junk food and fully eliminate unhealthy stuff from my diet, which I believe is the most challenging element of my resolution.

Plus, I’ve downloaded a health tracker on my phone to help me keep track of my resolution. It’s known as Stay fit. This app serves as a reminder for the run activities I need to accomplish as well as a performance tracker. With its help, I can keep track of my heart rate and jogging speed.

It also introduces me to people in my neighbourhood who are looking for fitness companions. So far, I’ve made connections with a few people in my society, and we go for morning strolls every day.

I made this resolution because I believe that one of the most essential aspects of our lives is our health, which is often overlooked in today’s chronically busy society. They later develop a variety of ailments and are unable to enjoy life to its fullest.

It feels so good after accomplishing my fitness goals; it provides me a sense of success and relieves anxiety from my life.

I had a lot of toys as a kid, but I’m going to talk about my electric toy bike today. It was given to me by my mother on my 13th birthday. I used to play with it for hours at a time.

The bike had a crimson colour and it was powered by 2 AA batteries. When I turned it on, it moved forward and played Justin Bieber song. And if there was something in its path, the car switched lanes automatically. It also featured lights that flickered from time to time.

I was so enthralled by this bike that I quickly depleted its batteries. I used to brag about it to my buddies. They all loved the toy I had. I recall carrying it in my tuition classes once, and when I arrived home; my father gave me a good thrashing. I used to be quite protective of my bike and would never allow anyone to put their hands on it.

I still keep the motorcycle in my room, it has so many memories of my childhood. Its colour has faded, yet it still hasn’t lost its sentimental importance.

Last year, though, I wasn’t expecting anything special but God has different plans. My sister surprised me with an astonishing birthday present. It was the special cake that she made exclusively for me.

She certainly had a lot of thought put into it. The cake was in the shape of a racing car; red and white Ferrari with wheels made of dark chocolate. Chocolate is one of my favourite foods. Moreover, the cake demonstrated that she cared for me much than I do.

Describe a special cake you received from others IELTS cue cards 2022

The cake was simply stunning in every aspect. In my family, I never imagined someone could cook such a beautiful cake. So I couldn’t believe my eyes when I first saw the cake. Everyone was engrossed in photographing the cake for about 15 minutes.

Our ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is someone I like greatly. He was the first Sikh Prime Minister of India and was born in the village of Gah in Pakistan’s Punjab state.

Mr Manmohan Singh is a leader who is focused on growth and development. He was a member of the Upper House of the Parliament, representing the state of Assam. He has served in the legislature for many years in a row. I appreciate him because his life demonstrates how a small town man from a deprived family can rise to the apex of politics.

All of this is due to his dedication and hard work. Moreover, when he was a finance minister in the 1990s, he welcomed globalisation and opened up India’s economy to foreign investment, which aided the gigantic economic growth of the country. He is indeed one of the most significant architects of India’s socialist economy and in the country’s transition to capitalism.

Mr Singh has certainly shown India’s vigour among the developed nations. He is also best known for the civilian nuclear accord between India and the United States of America, which everybody thought was near to impossible at that time.

His attention to detail, focus on development, and efforts to make a real impact in the lives of the poorest of the poor have made him a well-liked and respected leader around the world.

I think Mr Manmohan Singh is an inspiration to everyone around.

I’ve never used a camera in the past. My smartphone has a decent camera, so I used that. But the camera had a lot of impressive functions and a huge lens, and it appeared intimidating at first. I started to snap images in auto shutter mode because the manual setting were hard to comprehend. Then my brother suggested that I should take a digital photography course at Udemy.

Through the course, I was able to uncover a number of digital photography tools like photoshop etc. It had over 30 hours of visual content, and everything was thoroughly explained with several videos and text based examples.

All of the instructors were quite knowledgeable and began with the fundamentals. Aperture, shutter speed, depth of field, lens and camera operation, F-stop, ISO, and other concepts were part of the course curriculum.

Overall, it was incredibly thorough, simple to follow, and made learning enjoyable.

In the game of Javelin Throw, he earned India’s only gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics last year. Following his accomplishment, nearly every Indian news station telecasted his journey. I found out about him that way. I learned about his javelin-throwing passion and found out about his challenges.

For his incredible achievement, the national government and the state government of Haryana, presented him with financial rewards. I have seen a lot of his interviews and I believe he has a fantastic personality. I am proudly following him on social media sites like Twitter and Instagram. My friends and I had planned to ride our motorcycles there in 2021, but we were unable to do so owing to the COVID restrictions. It’s around 450 kilometres from our hometown. That’s why, we chose to ride a motorcycle to the hills.

The major reason for riding a motorcycle is because it is the finest way to absorb the scenery along the way and feel the fresh air. Secondly, some of the highland routes are extremely narrow, leading to traffic congestion at times.

Mr Ambani is a visionary businessman. He established India’s first-ever private oil refinery at Gujarat giving jobs to thousands of unemployed people.

In my city’s Adarsh Bazaar, there is a vegetable street market every weekend. There are roughly more than 200 stalls selling a variety of fresh vegetables. I frequently go there with my father to shop for grocery items. Lately, the street market has expanded into other things like selling clothes and all. I was taken aback by the abundance of branded clothing on display.

They were great first hand copies of reputed brands. One T-shirt specially caught my fancy. It was a printed tee with Disney characters on it. The seller first told me that it is for 800 Rs. but I bargained, and I got it for 650 Rs. So it was a wonderful deal. Ever since I bought it, I wear it almost every week.

Watching a live sports match is always interesting. In my neighbourhood, a new sports centre was recently opened, and I got the opportunity to visit it last weekend. I found out about it in the local news channel.

The Center was named after Major Dhyan Chand – the hockey wizard. This stadium is home to a variety of sports, including soccer and hockey. As soon as I learned about its opening, I’ve wanted to go to the Sports Center. But, when I learned that The Chandigarh Kings would be playing football in a friendly match on September 15th, I couldn’t resist my temptation.

I must admit that the adrenaline rush that filled the air carried me away as I arrived at the gigantic stadium. Football enthusiasts were preparing to enter the stadium to cheer for the home teams. There was delicious food items being served at the stadium. The stadium had a 10,000-seating capacity which is more than enough considering the population in my region.

I believe that everyone in the world is god-gifted and has at least one talent that they could improve. When it comes to me, I do have a natural talent and it’s the ability to dance.

There are different genres of dancing, such as classical, folk, belly-dancing, and contemporary, but I mostly do freestyle. I’ve always enjoyed dancing on special occasions but I’ve never learned to perform professionally. It was my sibling’s anniversary till recently, and we planned a surprise group dance performance for him and his wife.

All of my other family members chose me as the lead dancer. For our performance, we chose popular songs with catchy beats, and they turned out to be fantastic. Everyone liked us and appreciated our thoughtful gesture for the occasion. When my Aunt saw my moves, she was ecstatic and asked me to join her dance academy. It was at this point that I seriously considered her advice and realised that perhaps I should work on my natural talent.

I believe that dancing makes me feel extremely happy. It’s also a terrific stress reliever and a kind of physical exercise for me. When I dance, I forget about my concerns. It is a fantastic experience.

  • Where it is?
  • What it is used for?
  • What does it look like?
  • Explain why you like or dislike it?

Model cue card answer:

I reside in a rural area, where most of the houses are not that high. As a result, I can’t imagine a tall skyscraper in my village. My family and I, on the other hand, frequently visit Gurugram, which has a large iconic landmark, the clock tower. The locals refer to it as ‘Ghanta Ghar.’

The clock tower is located near the entrance to Gurugram’s business district, and the bus station is just a few kilometres to the north. It has now become a well-known tourist destination. It also serves as a reminder of colonial history, as it was constructed close to the time of independence.

The design is inspired by traditional European Gothic architecture. Despite the fact that the structure is composed of red bricks, it stands out among the colourful and lively surroundings. It appeals to me since it serves as a reminder of our past.

In addition, the structure has a certain allure. Amid the uncontrolled building around it, it appears lovely and lofty. When I travel to Ludhiana to watch movies and shop, I frequently run into friends. As a result, it will always remain a landmark for locals and people in the area.

#14 A quiet place

In Speaking Part-2 Describe a quiet place you like to spend your time IELTS cue card 2022, you should say:

  • Where it is?
  • How do you know it?
  • How often do you go there?
  • What do you do there?
  • Explain why you like the place?

Model cue card answer:

In today’s fast-paced world, finding calm areas is quite challenging. However, I’d like to discuss an area where I frequently visit and find amazing tranquillity.

The location I am talking about is Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib, a Sikh temple in Patiala.

I go there every month with my family and friends. We sometimes walk to the gurdwara and other times drive by car. It’s around 4 kilometres from my house. Because it is located far away from the main road, it is very calm. I always pay respect to the almighty whenever I go there.

Moreover, there is a well-kept fishpond in the gurdwara. I just sit on the pond’s steps and listen to the holy chants that are always going on there. It provides me with tremendous peace and comfort. This activity refreshes my mind and makes me spiritually connected to positivity. I feel very humbled after that.

#15 An environmental law

In Speaking Part-2 Describe a law on environmental protection IELTS cue card 2022, you should say:

  • What it is?
  • How do you first learned about it?
  • Who gets benefit from it?
  • Explain how you feel about this law?

Model cue card answer:

The government makes laws to ensure that society runs smoothly. We would be living in absolute chaos and disorder if these laws did not exist. There are other regulations worth mentioning, including the restrictions on smoking in public places, the requirement of wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler, and the prohibition of illegal cutting of trees. But today, I’m going to talk about a law that prohibits the usage of lethal plastic carry bags. This law first caught my attention on the news.

This environmental law has an impact on everyone on the planet. India outlawed the use of carry bags with a thickness of fewer than 50 microns a few years back, however, it was not adequately enforced due to a lack of alternatives.

However, in 2021, the government vowed to be rigorous in enforcing this rule. In fact, India was the global host of World Environment Day last year. As a result, the Prime Minister has directed every province to undertake a mass awareness campaign. Plastic in all forms, such as carry bags, drinking straws, and plastic bottles, has been outlawed, with stiff penalties levied against those who break the law.

Plastic is non-biodegradable and contributes to the overcrowding of landfills. When burned, it releases toxic gases into the atmosphere. As a result, I believe this is a good law, and we must all work together with the authorities.
